Dormas has been providing fruit and vegetable handling solutions for more than 65 years. We are the only company in South Africa that has consistently serviced the industry with its unique opportunities and threats over all these years. Our focus is on gentle handling of produce and on minimising total cost of ownership. Total cost does not refer to the purchase price only, it also includes the cost of maintenance, capacity required, the risk of downtime, personnel requirement, cost of managerial input and minimum damage to produce, all measured over the medium to longer term.

Our technical staff (production staff excluded) have a combined experience of more than 140 years in fruit and vegetable handling. Dormas is stable enough, ± 90 full time employees, to provide an ongoing and professional service but also small enough for a personalized solution to best suit your specific needs at a competitive price. We represent various global trademarks in South Africa i.e. Grimme, Upmann, Tong and a few others.

Communication with overseas suppliers take place on an ongoing basis to ensure that the latest available technology is used in our designs, adapted for our unique Southern African market.
Our head office and factory is based in Booysens, Johannesburg.

All manufactured equipment is designed on CAD to a high degree of standardisation which means less spares and cheaper maintenance. We only use first grade raw material and proven components of high quality. The spares we use are freely available or can be supplied ex stock. Dormas completes all manufacturing in the factory and only assembles equipment on site. This ensures better supervision which leads to better quality equipment.
